No, I don't mean this as a pick up line, I'm just wondering; do you have a sign that let's you know when things in your spiritual life need some attention?
One of mine is when I don't blog. I love sharing some of the thoughts I get from the Holy Spirit when I read the Bible or from things that happen to me where I see God working in my life, but when I (if you know me you know this is true) have nothing to say you know there is something wrong.
One of the other signs I look for is in my thoughts. Sometimes it's not how I handle a situation on the outside that concerns me, but what are my thoughts about it. Over the years I've learned how to hide some of my emotions. It's important that we constantly look for the signs. Not just the signs from God that lead us, but also the signs in ourselves that we may not be handling the good and the bad things in our life in a godly manner. The Bible says we are to take our thoughts captive, but if you don't stop long enough to think about what you are thinking how will you ever know which ones need to be caught and imprisoned. Paul wrote "Let a man examine himself..."
I pray you take a moment today and consider your ways. If you are having trouble locating the wrong areas of thinking in your mind ask God for help. One of my favorite hymns comes from Psalms 139:23 "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts." I know for me it's time to look at the signs and take out the trash.
Be Blessed in everything you do, Bob.

The bigger challenge is to believe before we see "our sign." To trust when all looks hopeless. If we have to have a "miraculous sign" to believe, we need to know that we have the formula backwards. Let's believe, trusting that what Jesus promises is just as true as God's promise was to send him!
